About Wells Fargo Arena

Wells Fargo Arena, which is owned by Polk County and professionally managed by Spectra, is a 17,000 seat arena that opened July 12, 2005. The arena is part of the Iowa Events Center complex, which also includes Hy-Vee Hall and the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center. Each year Wells Fargo Arena hosts the Hy-Vee Classic, which is a showcase of all four NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball programs in the State of Iowa (Drake University, the University of Iowa, Iowa State University and the University of Northern Iowa) as well as the Iowa High School State Wrestling and Girls and Boys Basketball Tournaments. Three professional sports teams also call the arena home, including the NBA G-League’s Iowa Wolves, the AHL’s Iowa Wild and the IFL’s Iowa Barnstormers.

In addition to sporting events, Wells Fargo Arena hosts world-class entertainers and is consistently ranked as a top 100 venue worldwide in terms of concert attendance. Recent artists who have played Wells Fargo Arena include Garth Brooks, Taylor Swift, Eric Church, Fall Out Boy, Justin Bieber, the Eagles, and Jason Aldean. The arena also hosts family shows, including Disney On Ice, Monster Jam, the Harlem Globetrotters and others.
